#38

Sometimes, when it's dark and you're under your blanket, you mind drifts away. That moment, right before you fall asleep, you'll think of an event in your life. An event when you had a choice of whether to give up or give in and see where it takes you.

I know people normally say they'd rather regret things they did than regretting things they didn't but is it really true? Would you regret getting pregnant at 15 or would you regret not sleeping with the first guy you flirt with you? Not everything that you didn't do will lead up to regret. At times, it's the things that you don't do that helps you build a better tomorrow for yourself.

And sometimes, you just have to figure out when to give up and when to give in. You should try your best, don't get me wrong. But how long can you try your best, that's up to you. Why wait for something that's never going to happen. We might as well give up if things are for the better, yknow.

At least that's what I think. Then again, I used to think that a human being should not give up on another human being. But I realised that there's no point of giving in to someone who hurts you both physically and mentally. Sometimes, it's hard giving up and let go but trust me, if it's for the better you really should.

The Quran said; You might like something even though it is bad for you and you might hate something even though it is good for you. So, what He's trying to say is like; you might like wearing heels but they're gonna hurt you and you might think flats is hideous and unacceptable but it will be a better option for your backbone. Same rule applies to human; you might like a person but if they treat you like shit, you might as well give up and let go.

I guess what I'm trying to say is you don't always have to give in. Sometimes, it's okay for you to give up, given the circumstances. You are smart enough to make a decision. Just take a minute and think which one should you do. Give up or give in?
